Shayan Davoudi is a practicing attorney in the United States, specializes in immigration law, contracts, criminal law, public international law, and international human rights law.
He is also Assistant Director of Continuing Legal Education, Digital Content Manager, and an assistant to the dean of American University Washington College of Law, in Washington D.C., where he obtained his Masters of Law (LL.M.) in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law with focus on migration studies.
While attending American University, Shayan was a legal researcher and editor for the Global Freedom of Expression and Information at Columbia University, Dean’s Fellow at the United Nations Committee Against Torture Project within American University Washington College of Law, and a legal extern for the United Nations Refugee Agency in Washington, D.C.
During his legal studies in the U.S., he worked with various academic institutions, governments, and civil society organizations, including the Organization for Refuge, Asylum & Migration, International Weapons Control Center of DePaul University College of Law, Ghana’s Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Human Rights Advocacy Centre, Heartland Alliance International, and Child Rights and Protection Consultancy-International.
He was also a law clerk for Law Offices of Azita Mojarad, an immigration law firm in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2012, Shayan was part of the first U.S. law school delegation ever visited Vietnam since the country’s war with the U.S.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies and Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University and then graduated with his Juris Doctor from The John Marhall Law School.
